We are pleased to announce the call for papers for our symposium:
Engraving Universal Values: Prometheus Symposium on Digital Epigraphy & Heritage Representation

18–20 September 2025 | Belgrade, Serbia + Online
The PROMETHEUS consortium—linking the Archaeological Museum of North Macedonia, Sofia University, the Institute for Balkan Studies (Serbian Academy of Sciences & Arts), the University of Belgrade, and Ss. Cyril & Methodius University—invites scholars, curators, and digital-humanities practitioners to explore how inscriptions can speak to universal human values in the 21st century.
Submit a 300-word abstract on one or more of these strands:
• Greek & Roman epigraphy (new finds, corpora, or readings)
• Digital methods (AI/OCR, 3D, photogrammetry, XR) for inscription study
• Museum & heritage narratives: representing inscriptions to diverse audiences
• Preservation & management of epigraphic monuments in the Balkans and beyond
• Pedagogical uses of epigraphy in formal & informal education
Important dates:

Abstract deadline: 30 July 2025

Notification of acceptance: 10 August 2025
