Successful presentation of the PROMETHEUS project at the Archaeological Museum of Skopje!
On November 24, we presented our PROMETHEUS project at the Archaeological Museum of Skopje, welcoming a diverse audience eager to engage with ancient history and digital innovation.
Together, we participated in the official launch of our distinctive digital collection, which brings together 30 significant epigraphic inscriptions alongside ancient Balkan stories that promote universal values.
During the event, speeches were delivered by Magdalena Manaskova, Director of the Archaeological Museum; Oliver Bakreski, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy; Slavica Babamova, our Project Coordinator; and Elena Djukeska, Project Coordinator from the Faculty of Philosophy. All speakers emphasised how we are connecting cultural heritage and universal values through new technology.
We enjoyed a live demonstration of the PROMETHEUS digital platform, highlighting interactive tools for exploring ancient texts, visualisations, maps, and educational materials. As a practical application, we linked project data to selected museum artefacts using QR codes displayed beside the exhibits, directing visitors to our website for deeper exploration. Our platform supports research, classroom activities, and broad public engagement with heritage from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Serbia.
We hope this initiative will fuel curiosity and inspire the wider dissemination of Balkan epigraphic heritage across Europe and beyond.
