We are pleased to share with you the programme and the summary of our upcoming workshop!

❦ In the introductory session, Professor Elena Džukeska will speak about the ideas behind the PROMETHEUS project, presenting the project’s innovative fusion of digital epigraphy and storytelling that brings to life the universal values embedded in ancient inscriptions.

❦ In two sessions on 13th and 14th the workshop will explore the intimate and human stories in Roman funerary inscriptions with Professor Vojin Nedeljković in his captivating lectures Meet the Gravestones. Through his insightful approach, Roman inscriptions become vivid narratives, unveiling the personal tales and cultural contexts behind each gravestone.

❦ In the first day’s second session, our guest lecturers Jelena Anđelković Grašar and Vasilka Dimitrovska will showcase innovative techniques that make heritage learning both enjoyable and meaningful. Through compelling examples and case studies, they will explore how interpretation, storytelling, and gamification can deepen our connection to heritage. This dynamic approach not only enriches our engagement with cultural legacies but also ensures their preservation for future generations.

❦ On the 14th, two captivating presentations will showcase innovative and engaging workshops tailored for high school students, designed to ignite curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation for antiquity among young minds. Jelena Savić will present Weekendium, a series of hands-on workshops held at the Philological High School of Belgrade. Jelena Vukojević will discuss the engaging workshops focused on ancient inscriptions held at Collegium Carolivicanum, the summer school of classical languages and tradition held in Latin language.

❦ The workshop finale is reserved for the presentation of Professor Dimitar Illiev, who will talk about an important, pioneering Facebook page Digital Epigraphy in South-Eastern Europe. This significant initiative not only serves as a network hub for scholars and specialists in the region interested in IT applications in epigraphy but also as a valuable resource on epigraphic heritage, sharing fascinating stories from the world of ancient inscriptions.
